Why Anger Management
Anger management is important for mental health because it helps people respond to stress in ways that protect both the mind and body. When anger is not regulated, it can increase feelings of anxiety, depression, and chronic stress, which over time can negatively affect overall well-being.
Research has also shown links between frequent anger and physical health risks: for example, findings from the Framingham Heart Study suggest that high levels of anger and hostility are associated with greater risk of cardiovascular problems, partly because unmanaged anger can increase stress hormones and blood pressure.
By learning skills such as emotional awareness, relaxation techniques, and constructive communication, people can reduce the intensity and frequency of angry reactions, lower stress, and support healthier relationships and mental functioning.
